Halloween Train, Pumpkins, and Parade

We had lots of Halloween fun this year!  Josiah and Abbey went on the spooky train ride (Ben stayed home, he was not interested in being traumatized by the mildly scary event).
Josiah with Patrick Conlin

Afterwards, Josiah went to the haunted house at the fire department with the Conlins.

We carved very impressive pumpkins: a unicorn, Pats insignia, and goblin

And they joint-carved the pumpkin from our garden.

Abbey's class went trick-or-treating at St. Andrews' Village and there was also a parade at school for the Pre-K thru 2nd grade.

And then poor Abbey got the flu.  She ended up missing Halloween but was such a trooper about it!  She asked her brothers to get her some gum and chocolate.

I brought Abbey downtown and parked where we could see the parade go by.

Ben collected an entire bag of candy for his sister, plus he got lots of compliments for being such a kind brother.  Logan also brought the boys to Trunk or Treat at BBC.

Pumpkinfest at L.L. Bean

Logan's mom wanted to see L.L. Bean, so we waited for Saturday when they were having Pumpkinfest.  What a great day!  The kids had a blast, there was so much to do.  Freeport was jam packed.

And look who we ran into at Gap!  Jaidan and Jason Schlosser. :)

Ricker Hill Orchards

I wanted to go back to Ricker Hill Orchards this year, so we waited for Papa and Grandma's visit and the kids played hookie from school.  It ended up being PAINFULLY cold!!!  It was windy so it felt like sub zero temps.  But we had lots of fun and brought home apples, pumpkins, cider and donuts.

Fall foliage and the cranberry bogs:

You can buy an activity pass for the kids to use the bounce houses, mini golf, hay maze, fire engine, corn box, etc.  The kids lasted two hours out in the cold before I convinced them to leave.  Papa and Grandma waited in the car.

The poor cow was in tears, he was so cold.

We stopped on the way home to take pictures of this beautiful blueberry field.
