Our 10th Anniversary

Logan and I celebrated our tenth anniversary this year!!!

 

We went back to the scene of the wedding reception, The Spruce Point Inn, and enjoyed a romantic dinner in their formal dining room, overlooking a gorgeous sunset.

It is astounding what has transpired in ten years, and I can only imagine what we'll have to celebrate after our next decade together!  I am blessed to have married such a godly and good man. 

What anniversary dinner would be complete without a whoopee pie??  :)  We loved all the "freebies" the SPI included in our dinner: champagne, tuna, and breakfast muffins.  Logan ate salmon and I had stuffed peppers.  We enjoyed people-watching the upper-crust clientele, and reminiscing about our beautiful wedding day and reception. 

Here's to fifty more years together!  Love you, sweetie!

DC with Papa

Staying with friends in CT on Monday night, Abbey greatly admired this large stuffed jaguar and insisted on sleeping with it. :)

Ben woke papa up sick Monday night. Josiah kept Grandma up that Thursday night throwing up!  Poor little guys. :(

Papa and the boys stayed at Clay and Larissa's in DC, where thye have a cool rock-wall set-up in their garage.

The boys had a fabulous trip and enjoyed seeing the sights in DC with their best buddy, Papa!

Our kids are popular with their grandparents.  Logan's parents and my mom had requested a summer visit from the kids so it wouldn't be April to November without seeing them, plus however many inches of growth would be involved in that span of time.  Logistically it didn't seem possible and Logan and I were discussing for weeks and weeks how to make this happen.  Then Papa asked if he could take the boys on a trip to DC this summer, and we were like, "How soon can you go?!"  They left Monday morning and stayed at a friend's house in CT that night, then Papa dropped Abbey off with Grandma in Wilmington and took the boys to DC, where they stayed with our friends Clay and Larissa and enjoyed the museums for two days. I'll do a separate post with Papa's pictures from DC.  On Thursday, Papa dropped the boys off with Grandma and then Logan's parents came to pick them up Friday and Logan and I arrived the following Friday in NC.  I drove the kids back to Mom's for a few days before driving back to ME the next Friday, and Logan flew back on Monday to get back to work. 

 

Here are the kids taking off for their adventure without us!  I was very worried that Abbey would be homesick but she was a trooper and enjoyed every minute of her trip. :)

Not pictured: me crying my eyeballs out when they pulled away.  One of many tear-fests for me while they were gone.  DID NOT enjoy being separated from my brood.  And Logan was surprised by how little he enjoyed it!  He had anticipated relishing the quiet, but we were mostly just depressed.  We kept ourselves busy car-shopping and changing bedrooms around, and were SO ready to pick them up by the time we headed down to NC. 

And this happened the Saturday before they left:

I'm almost certain I lost my diamond at my cleaning job, either when I was shaking rugs out over the ocean or loading the washing machine.  I wept and searched high and low when I realized it was missing.  Logan reacted like a true gentleman when I told him: "It's just a ring!  I don't care about that.  Don't worry!!!"  What a sweetie!

Josiah has been cutting our grass this summer!  Mostly without Daddy's help:

Abigail loves to wear pajamas.  All day, with the exception of when we leave the house and I insist she dress.  During the day, she may wear up to six different pairs of pj's. :)

D.E.W. Wild Animal Kingdom & Sanctuary

We went to the DEW Animal Kingdom and Sanctuary with some Boothbay friends and had a blast!  There is an amazing collection of exotic animals to observe, through a rambling pathway in the shade of the woods.  The kids were impressed and had a great time with their buddies.

 

All four (Gigi too) fell asleep on the ride home!
