Big Brother Josiah

I forgot to give you the big news: Josiah is going to have a little brother!!! We had our ultrasound June 27th, and the little guy looks beautiful. He's extremely calm compared to his big brother; I should have been able to start feeling him four weeks ago, but he's just now kicked me maybe twice in the past week. I'm 20 weeks along now, and feeling pretty good.

hello dear friends,



it has been awhile since i blogged last because we've been incredibly busy since our return from nc! the coffeeshop is open now, so i've been working to help my mom out as much as possible (which isn't much, since i get so tired so quickly). logan has been working ten hour days four days a week on squirrel island, and then spending friday and saturday landscaping our yard and doing some of the finish work we never did on our house last summer, like putting in trim and painting. last week was windjammers week in boothbay (an annual celebration), and this week has been busy with july fourth goings on. logan's sister and her family have been with us since last saturday. they came in perfect time to celebrate logan's 32nd birthday with us, as well as the fourth. it's been a lot of fun having them up here and sharing our life with them. above are pictures from the windjammers parade, logan's birthday and pictures from our picnic lunch on squirrel with logan. josiah played with all of his cousins together for the first time at logan's party!



a couple of weeks ago, logan surprised me with a night at the newagen inn on southport island for our third anniversary. it is very uncharacteristic of logan to be deceptive and lie to me, so i never suspected anything!!! i'm very proud of his new skills, of course. he told me we were having dinner with the schlossers, who manage the inn and live on the property. when we arrived, logan told me he was taking me out to dinner and they were babysitting! i was pleasantly surprised to say the least. their restaurant overlooks the ocean and serves gourmet fare so it was a big treat. in the middle of our meal, my dad walks in and asks where jason schlosser was. he was coming to pick up josiah, but i never suspected that because it is just like my dad to show up anywhere at anytime!!! :) after dinner, logan wanted to show me one of the rooms he had cleaned carpets in the other week, but i refused to just walk into the room. so while i used the restroom, logan 'went to get a key from jason' and we walked in to champagne, roses, chocolate, and rose petals all over!!! so romantic. jason also had a little bonfire set on the lawn overlooking the ocean for us. it was such a romantic, sweet evening! logan did very good. :)
