The Watoto Children's Choir

The Watoto Children's Choir performed at our Church this past Sunday. The choir represents a Ugandan orphanage that places eight children in a home with a 'mother', which becomes their home for the rest of their lives. There are over 1,000 orphans at Watoto today, and their goal is to have 10,000. It is a fantastic, holistic approach to caring for orphans. The choir travels every winter to raise money for the ministry, and churches can go to Uganda to build more homes on the campus. Look them up on the internet sometime and sponsor a child! They were all so sweet.

growing fast

it seems like josiah has grown into a little man in the past week. suddenly he is more articulate (he 'talks' to himself all day), and he's starting to take a step between furniture pieces and standing on his own. he'll be a year old one month from today! we were at the doctor today, who was impressed with josiah's ability to express himself and thought he was very healthy. he's 30 inches long and 24 lbs now, in the 80th percentile for size.

New "Toofie"

josiah started to cut his first tooth dec. 23rd, and now he's growing #2! he hasn't been letting anyone see his teeth, but i managed to snap these pictures this morning. you may need to click on the pictures to actually see anything. :)

Little Rascal

i decided to capture some shots of josiah getting into mischief yesterday. it was tempting to throw in a picture of him splashing in the toilet too, but i didn't want anyone to think that i'm a negligent mother. i normally don't endorse such behavior; i was giving him a free pass for the sake of memory making. :)

bath time!

here's a cute picture from the past week; josiah is growing too quickly! he's been struggling to grow a 'toofy' since 12/23. it's still barely showing. poor kid. we've removed his safety seat from the bathtub, and now he roams back and forth splashing around for his whole bath, which makes things interesting! he's such a handful. :)

Wondrous Winter Wedding

Logan, Josiah and I had the great priviledge of celebrating Clay and Larissa's wedding with them and many dear friends this past weekend. It was thrilling to see the fruit of our labor after setting them up on a blind date nearly two years ago! They took pains to plan a wedding that truly glorified God and they seemed to be having so much fun all evening. We couldn't be happier for them. Pictured below are the "Gordon Girls", Josiah with Kelly, and the happy couple.
