BBRLT Insect Safari

We went on a super fun Insect Safari with the Boothbay Region Land Trust today!  We visited three different habitats that are all present at the Thorpe Easement - woods, field and shoreline.  The kids obviously had the best time wading around in the water looking for crabs!
This is the same spot that Jon and I played with Lucy and Doug Tabbutt when we were kids.  Cool to reminisce while the kids played there!

Summer Pics

Abbey and the boys were excited to have this little pool in the backyard:

One of the best places to cool down on the hottest days is Barrett's Park:

Abbey inherited some cool boots from the Conlins, and wore this getup to the grocery store one day:

Library "Dig Into Reading" Week

The Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library had a week full of fun activities for kids.
An officer brought his canines and talked about what they were trained to do:

The Perrys and Grandma won the Scavenger Hunt!  They went around to dozens of locations and businesses around the Harbor, many dolling out treats and gifts.

Watershed Ceramics brought clay in the mud mobile and helped the kids make bookends (which ended up falling apart in the firing process).

We were given a tour of the 5 Senses Garden at the Botanical Gardens:

CIW with Friends

We always like to invite others to join us when we're at Cottage in the Woods.  The more the merrier!

The Wells had wanted to see what CIW had to offer, so they were excited to come down Thursday for dinner and a pontoon boat ride with the Townsends:

Sandra was getting frisky with Maynard (although she would tell you she was just trying to keep him from falling overboard). :)

Love this family!  Sandra, Pam & Maynard were so kind to take us on a boat ride.

The boys love spending time with friends:

Friday morning, Megan brought Dylan and Austin down for a swim and lunch:

Abbey and Dylan have been playing together at Healthy Kids since they were six months old!

Lisa Wells and her girls had spent the night so they could swim with us the next day.

Jeannie brought her boys over for the day Friday:
Josiah and Casey found some baby frogs, while Abbey looks on with a chocolate moustache. :)

The boys had a blast with Jack and Casey on the lake:

Jeannie got in too.  She misses her home on West Harbor Pond, so it was fun for her to swim in a lake again.

Trying to catch something with Casey.

We had so many left-over enchiladas from Thursday night, that we got to recycle that dinner with even more friends!

Saturday, Jamie and Phillip brought their triplets over for the day.

Philip and Logan took turns water skiing!  They were both pretty sore the next day.
:)
Abbey loved having the triplets to splash around with in the shallow part of the lake.  They lasted for hours!
