I've started reading a book that you can download for free online, "This Momentary Marriage" by John Piper. Usually I would wait until I've read something through to the end before sharing, but this is too good to wait!

Cutie Pie

Little Cutie Pie is growing up fast - almost one year old! She's crawling like a mad woman, and is pulling herself up on the bathtub and coffee table, plus surfing along the stair rails. She can say several words, but mostly says "Hi" all day and loves to high-five everyone. She giggles a lot and enjoys eating 'big people' food now. :)

September Beach Day

The last week of summer was dreary, wet and cold, but this first week of fall has been warm! Wednesday afternoon, Papa took his little buddies to the beach to take advantage of the sunshine. He got some great pictures of the boys!

Owls Head Transportation Museum

Logan and I took the kids to the Owls Head Transportation Museum last Saturday for their "Earth Movers & Shakers" event. What fun!

There were a dozen large construction vehicles for the kids to climb on, in addition to the museums' impressive collection of antique vehicles and airplanes.

There was an airshow throughout the morning with antique airplanes taking turns flying around the grounds.

There was a lot going on for the kids: they made styrofoam planes, rode little cars and tractors around, dug in a sandbox with construction toys, did a football toss, etc.

We were so impressed by the museum that we went ahead and bought a membership to the museum through 2012. They refunded our tickets for that day and gave us a free lunch! What a great day!

Books of the Bible

The boys had the great priviledge of singing "The Books of the Bible" at the Cottage in the Woods annual ice cream social and fund raiser concert. They were thrilled! Here's some pictures from the afternoon and the video of our little musicians. Enjoy! Abbey dancing to the music. :)

A Splash in the Park

Our last stop in Boston was at a fountain near the Aquarium, which the boys had seen Friday and wanted to play in it. They had a blast!

A Day in the City

Papa took me and the kids to Boston for a fun-filled overnight trip, this past Friday and Saturday. I love visiting Boston because it brings back so many wonderful memories from my college years. We arrived at lunch time Friday and started out exploring Long Wharf. The kids loved seeing the seals outside the Aquarium, and getting 'bitten' by the big stingray!

Then Papa treated the boys to a special Duck Tour! They even got to drive the boat!! (Although, it looks like the guide kept his hand close to the wheel. :)

Then we caught the ferry over to the Navy Yard, where we saw a destroyer from Pearl Harbor and the U.S.S. Constitution:

We had dinner at Quincy Market, then walked around looking for some street entertainment. The boys enjoyed mimicing some street dancers:

The kids were real troopers about walking around the city.

In the hotel room, Abbey enjoyed having 'another' little baby to play with, and here she is coming in to "kiss the baby."

Saturday morning, we made a stop at the Museum of Science to see the big dinosaur again (we had stopped Friday on our way into the city, and the boys kept asking to see it again after that):

Cottage in the Woods

We spent four nights at The Cottage in the Woods last week and had a fantastic time. We gourged ourselves on yummy food - strawberry shortcake, blueberry pie (picked from our back yard), s'mores, etc.

Even Abigail got to enjoy some Cool Whip. :)

This was a "working vacay" for Logan and I--you can see our work station behind Nana and Abigail in this photo. I also commuted a couple of times to the Rocktide. Thank goodness for Wi-Fi!

Our lovely hosts, the "stewards" of God's ministry at Cottage in the Woods, Maynard, Sandra and Pam:

We had a cookout with the Townsends, my dad, Nana and Aunt Linda our last afternoon. Abigail showed off her flexibility.

Josiah and Benjamin are always looking for some way to "help" us out, here taking the boat out of the water, and doing dishes.

I told the boys they looked like old men sitting in their lawn chairs, so everytime Josiah sat in his chair after that, he asked me, "Do I look like a man, Mommy?" A couple weeks ago, he asked me if he'd have hair on his face soon. He can't grow up soon enough! :)
